...painting for friday #9...

maggie.jpg

So I feel like I am turning a corner in my painting. I think this one is a bit too rough, but definitely on the way to what I felt was missing. I can't believe I didn't think of using the little sculptures before. I am going to do a sculpture of last weeks painting, so I can work it out and try again.

I would love to get feedback. Thanks.

Yes, I agree..it's a very confident painting; I love the depth to it. Gorgeous!

To me...she is closing her eyes in understanding of someone else's emotion. She might be nodding? I also see her as mature. I like her!

i can't give any real critique on this on this one but it seems almost "done" in a sense. very emotional but i also feel that it seems strong.... i love seeing your work & you're brave to put it out there.

This is great Wendy. Maybe next you want to do a painting of this painting? I think part of what makes it so successful is the objectivity. Lovely. More please!

I like the fact that this is raw. Layers seem to be revealed because of the fact that it is not worked until "finished". Finished in a Wendy sense anyway. This is a good direction for you to explore.
