painting for friday #20...
"flock" (name idea from ky)
wow, I made it to twenty.
I have been painting with clear gesso. I love it. I love the tooth it gives, but then it has this great effect.
Light from behind.
Another shot from behind. (too bad the stretcher bars aren't transparent)
Kind of fun.
Does anyone else do an even or odd number thing when they create?
I have to do odd...there are nine birds for #20.
Five last week for #19.
Three blue & one yellow for #18....it continues, it is a bit of a compulsion. But I like it!

the little curly things on their heads are fab!
i'm totally into odds... usually 3's or 5's...weird huh?? i think it helps create balance for me....

I'm very much an evens person. I always somehow thought of evens as feminine and odds as masculine...for no reason really. Very pretty painting, I imagine the birds as being gigantic and kindly. Like giraffes.

Ohh, these guys are cool! Kind of spooky, but sweet. I love the light shining through! I am definitely and odd kind of girl. (he-he) sevens and fives and my all time favorite...9!

always odd numbers...have you started selling your paintings yet? or limited prints? tiny showcase? please? some of your stuff hurts (girl with thorns, blue cry angels) but some ponders and perches and perhaps can free...

odds all the way. evens are too perfect for me.
I adore these birdies. I love what Janel said about their being gigantic and kindly because that was the first thing I thought of too. The head tendrils fill me with delight because they're so unexpected yet soooo right!
